My local coffeeshop has a new employee: an attractive, smiling, blonde, British lady. I wanted to make the right impression so I ordered thusly, “Oi! I’ll have a raspberry scone, you wanker! Amy Winehouse! Kate Moss! Occupying India!”

I think we made a real connection because she gracefully served me an espresso shot to the face and then said to her co-worker, “This is the fifth time this morning he’s said that to me. Can you get him out of here?” in the cutest English accent!

Things to do Before I Go

Spurred by Mighty Girl’s posting, here, I’m going to start making a list of things I need to do before I go: 1. Island-Hop in Greece 2. Own a boutique clothing store 3. Jog in a marathon 4. Sleep on a small boat, under the stars. 5. Learn how to sail 6. Perform a music set…solo. 7. :: Censored :: 8. Lead a teen choir. 9. Have warm chocolate cookies waiting for my children when they come home from school. 10. Own a Karmann Ghia 11. Get married on or overlooking an ocean 12. Take a road trip and not know where I’m going to end up. 13. Write a song that I’m proud of. to be continued… .
